Independent Living Resource CenterMERN program (Medical Equipment Recycling Network)- 3033 W. 2nd, Wichita, KS 67203. Durable medical equipment loans for all persons in need. Stock varies based on donations received. Accepts donations of gently used medical equipment. Does not loan or take donations of hospital beds. Times are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Victory in the Valley, Inc. 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67218. Donated used as well as newly purchased medical equipment is available to loan through Victory in the Valley, Inc. They have a small supply of wheelchairs (adult and child), toilet risers; shower stools, and assorted other equipment, which can be loaned to cancer patients in need of them. A wig chosen from a fully stocked wig salon as well as hats, scarves, turbans and breast prostheses are available free of charge to any cancer patient.  A trained volunteer will assist each patient in making their selection.  Any female breast cancer patient that is uninsured may receive assistance for two new mastectomy bras and can also arrange to be fitted by a professional fitter for a free prosthesis. Medication Assistance

Patient Advocate Foundation Komen has partnered with Patient Advocate Foundation to launch a financial aid program allowing breast cancer patients greater monetary support services while involved in treatment and recovery. Patients needing assistance can call (855) 824-7941 or learn more about the eligibility guidelines at www.patientadvocate.org/gethelp.

Victory in the Valley, Inc. 3755 East Douglas, Wichita KS, 67218. Cancer patients may receive assistance for prescriptions for pain and nausea through referrals from their physician. Victory in the Valley has established an Emergency Medical Fund (provided on a short-term basis) to assist with these needs.  This fund is accessed through the direction of the patient’s physician/nurse, and the pharmacy is paid directly by Victory in the Valley after authorization.. Sedgwick County Prescription Drug Discount program635 N. Main, Wichita, KS  67203. Any Sedgwick County resident without prescription plan benefit, uninsured, or if you have Medicare without supplemental prescription drug coverage may use the program.  One card is issued per family and it provides discounts on medications.  The discount card can only be utilized in participating pharmacies (over 75 pharmacies in Sedgwick County).  Please contact the phone number for various locations to pick up the card.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance-assists qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public or private program that is right for them. To access the Partnership for Prescription Assistance by phone call 1-888-477-2669 or receive information at www.pparx.org.

CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance Foundationhelps people being treated for cancer afford the insurance co-payments on the prescription medicines they need.  To be eligible you must meet certain criteria related to your diagnosis, treatment and financial situation.  You must also have private insurance or Medicare that covers a portion of the prescribed chemotherapy or cancer drug. Financial help is not available for radiation treatment or symptom management.  To access CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance Foundation call 1-866-55-COPAY (1-866-552-6729) or go to www.cancercarecopay.org.

Wigs

Victory in the Valley has a wonderful supply of wigs that are styled and available free of charge to any woman who is going through treatment for cancer. In addition to wigs, the Women’s Boutique also has a supply of turbans and hats that have been generously donated to VV to offer to cancer patients.
